The project, completed in September 2006, involved the Salmon Drift Creek Watershed Council, the City of Lincoln City, the Preservation Association of Devils Lake, the Devils Lake Water Improvement District, the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.Katen emphasized the collaboration which made the project possible, saying, “The important thing here … was the award went to the project and the team that made it happen, and that the project was paid for by OWEB (Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board), USFWS and the City of Lincoln City.” Katen added Lincoln City Mayor Lori Hollingsworth and City Engineer Stephanie Reid “were both instrumental in helping to bring the project partners together and find a solution that protected the city’s interests.” (Courtesy photo)
