| Patrick
is a Keizer native and 2001 honors graduate of McNary High School
where he was a student-body officer for all four years. Patrick was
the 2001 Salem-Keizer Schools Youth Leader of the Year and was also
inducted to the Marion County Youth Hall of Fame in 2000. Patrick
was a politics/economics double-major and multicultural achievement
scholar at Willamette University for two years before transferring
to Portland State University as a business finance/marketing major.
Patrick is a former Keizer Police Cadet and former member of two Keizer
committees - Library Task Force and Community Oriented Policing. In
2002, Patrick was the youngest candidate in Keizer's history for city
council. Patrick's political involvement began in 1998 as a sophomore
in high school on a state representative campaign. In 2000, Patrick
was a county chairperson for a United States Congressional campaign.
In 2002, while running his own campaign, he was a field director for
a county commissioner campaign and managed the websites of two Oregon
Senate races. Patrick's professional background includes currently
owning his own website design company, sales for Acura and AT&T
Wireless/Cingular, sports reporter for The Keizertimes, collegiate
basketball official, and an associate for the Salem/Keizer Area's
only independently owned office supplies store - Cooke Stationery.
In 2006, Patrick managed Chuck Lee's campaign for State Representative
and was elected to the Board of Directors of the Marion Soil &
Water Conservation District. In his free time, Patrick enjoys playing
the piano, basketball, and watching movies. |

Ruthanne
Lidman

Ruthanne Lidman has over 40 years experience as a professional librarian. She earned a BA with dual majors: sociology/library science and dual minors: math/science at Purdue University. Her MA in Library Science at Rosary College led to positions as varied as library director at Harper & Row Publishers and Assistant County Librarian in the Josephine County (OR) Library System. Ruthanne held a variety of positions, including that of Board President, during the formative stages of the Lincoln County (OR) Library District in 1989-91. More recently, she authored the “Handbook for Trustees of Oregon Public Libraries” (1998 & 2005 editions) for the Oregon State Library. Ruthanne also has more than eleven years experience managing and consulting with various Oregon nonprofit organizations. In this capacity she did program promotion, newsletter and brochure production, record keeping and bookkeeping, bulk mailings and conference/workshop management. Active in Oregon Democratic politics since the mid-1980’s, Ruthanne was the Lincoln County coordinator for the Dukakis and 1992 Clinton-Gore campaigns, as well as for the 1995 and 1998 Wyden for Senate campaigns. She worked for Rep. Hedy Rijken as both interim legislative staff and campaign treasurer in 1989-90. Ruthanne has served as campaign treasurer for Rep. Cowan since her 1991-92 race for Lincoln County Commissioner, and as Administrative Assistant in Rep. Cowan’s legislative office since she took office. |
